okay i posted this same exact question a little while back and i never got an answer and i would really appreciate one...if possible

hey i was just wondering....
okay both my girlfriend and i are "clean"..(free of std's)..
but can std's just pop out of nowhere if we are eachother's only partners?

again i would really really REALLY appreciate an answer if at all possible

Unless you have both been tested for everything, then you can never be sure that you are both clean, and yes, they can pop up out of nowhere.

There are some that if your Parents were infected, then they would have passed them on to you invitro.

Test early, and test often.

You can't get an STD out of nowhere: Either you got it via unprotected sex, or from your parents, or by a medical mishap (reusing needles, or infected blood transfusion, etc.etc.)

The only way to 100% know you're both clean is if you stay locked up in a sponge room totally excommunicated from the world from six months, and after that all testes shows as clean.

Advice?
Play safe. I know it somewhat feels better without a condom, but believe me in the long run, it is better to use a condom. Plus they aren't THAT expensive!

and i was just wondering if from this point on if we are each others only partners

Right on. Look, life is a risk; walking down the street or driving is a risk, it's all a series of calculated risks. We make decisions every day that could technically go either way. There's no absolutely safe guarantee. It's a matter of what risk level you're comfortable with.

Fact is, there are a LOT of STDs that you could get tested for, and a lot of STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and other goodies that you could also get tested for, many of which require separate tests.

There's lots of stuff you could technically contract. And since you're not both "locked up in a sponge room totally excommunicated from the world from six months" as Jean quite eloquently put it, you don't know that you didn't get something with a blood transfusion or from a flu shot, or from a cut you didn't realize you had.

Absolutely, play safe; condoms just make it safer. And there's also the issue of potentially getting the lady pregnant. Sure, you can try and play the calendar and hope the pill always works, but the secret in staying safe is having a multi-layered defense. That way fi one layer is breached, you're still "covered".

So this argument could go back and forth continuously on theoretical grounds, and I'm not trying to scare you here, but factually speaking you're way safer if you use "protection", i.e. condoms and more.

And something else I want to add: Don't get bored with the old same yellow-ish latex condoms! We're in the condom era: There are big, small, with flavor, without flavor, rimmed, even ones that vibrate, colored, with scent, with or without spermicide, and the list can go on and on and on.... play with different stuff: Try flavored ones for a blowjob, or even you can use then when giving HER oral...

There are a lot of things to try. So don't limit yourself. Shop around and make it everytime different. I bet your girl, and you as well, won't get bored.

we're both as sure as we can be that the both of us dont have anything....
and im just wondering wut the chance of getting a disease is from continual unprotected sex if we're only with eachother

yeah i know that condoms are ALWAYS safe

If you're sexually active, chances are that if any of you have a disease, both will get it. How much are chances for any of you to have an STD or STI? I would say, the normal. And the normal, is too high to risk it. As D&J already stated, open wounds can make you get an STD/STI. Any hospital mishap. Even if your home hygiene is not good.

i still dont feel like im getting an answer to my main question:

This is simply not a cut and dried issue because of all the possible exceptions and outside factors that you simply cannot have control over; so the answers above are about as direct as you're going to see in my opinion.

Your chances are certainly much lower than they would be if you had sex with others too. but that's still higher than many people are comfortable with.
