How should I ask a girl out from my class?

I've meet a really cool girl in one of my classes at my college. She definitely likes me and thinks I'm a good guy, but I'm unsure if she has a boyfriend or anything, or if she has any real interest in me. My best guess is that she doesn't have a boyfriend-but really don't know. How should I ask her out? Should I ask if she would like to get dinner sometime? or if she would like to hang out sometime? or if she would like to do something sometime? Also when is the best time to ask her? Should I start a conversation with her after class, walk out to our cars, then ask? Any advice?

Don't even consider that. If she has one, it's her job to say no. And don't start out by asking if she has a boyfriend. That looks insecure.

"Would you like to get a burger and a beer?" "Let's get a bite after class?"

Keep it simple! Making it a big production comes off as needy, like you feel you have to buy her.

Also when is the best time to ask her?

You've already laid the ground work. Just walk up and do it. At this point, she's going to say "yes" or she isn't.

I wasn't planning on asking her if she had a boyfriend, was just saying that I wasn't sure.

I'll probably go with- "hey, would you want to get dinner sometime?".

The thing that I'm worried about is that I don't want to make it awkward if she says no. I just feel like if she does say no, it might be awkward sitting in class with her for the rest of the semester, because shes in my lab group (one more month, ends dec 10).

Any ideas on how I could flirt with her?

From your report of her conversation, it sounds like you've already got the flirting accomplished.

Girls get asked out all the time. They really don't go around thinking "Well, this guy asked me out. He's a loser." It's just a question. Get over yourself and ask! If she says "no," then act like nothing happened.

Lets not take such a big step though.

Lets keep it simple like something like lunch not a dinner. You could just go some where pretty casual and just have fun.

Remember to keep conversations away from the word relationship, just talk about anything besides a relationship. Classes past high school experiences interests like sports, hobbies, music.

Don't compliment her too much, just once would be fine. Such as "you look nice today" would be enough.

If you already did ask her and made plans keep those plans. But just keep my suggestions in mind.

Going to ask her soon. Might start with "you look nice" then later ask her if she wants to do something sometime.

In case she says she has a boyfriend or something, what should I start talking about to not make it awkward?
