There's nothing wrong with dating your friend's sister. Just be sure to always treat her like a perfect gentleman. If he feels positively about you, he would love to have his sister with someone he knows and trusts.

This is a toughie, and one I've already dealt with. You may not think the age gap is that big, but to her or maybe the law, it is. When you say that you compliment on her beauty all the time, is that the only thing you like about her? If so, I suggest you back off. If not, make sure she knows that that isn't the only thing your intrested about her, because if you don't she'll think that her beauty is the only thing that pleases you and she might do something she doesn't want to. Also, look at the future consequences. If you were to date her, how would your friend the sister feel? And if you two break up, how would you an her feel when your hanging out with her sister?

I think it would only be polite to talk to your best friend about your interest in his sister, and see what he thinks before trying to ask her out. 3 year difference isn't a big deal in the long run, but between 14 and 17 that is quite a lot.

If you are seriously love her then really go ahead..

I strongly disagree with some of the comments above. Teenagers have their hormones going nuts at your ages and the word "love" doesnt exist for most of you. Saying "if you love her, do it" is not something you say to a 14 or 17 year old. :rolleyes: Yes, its possible to love at that age but usually its lust, not love. :p

First of all, 14 is still very young. 14 and 17, although only 3 years apart, is still a very big difference at your ages. A lot changes from 14 to 18 physically and mentally. You're still growing up, going through school and experiencing a lot of new aspects to life.

Sex itself is a big deal and comes into play in a relationship. The law, as said above, can get you into a lot of trouble here.

I wouldnt be surprised if your friend become very disappointed in you for wanting to ask her out. I have a little sister myself (11 years younger then me) and at 14, I sure wouldnt want some guy (any guy) touching her. Older brothers are very protective of their sisters.

If I was you, I would wait until she hits at least 17 before thinking about asking her out. Stay good friends for now, thats my advice. Otherwise you risk losing your friend, losing a girl you like and getting in big trouble with parents and police. :cool:

Find someone your own age if you want to date. Its a lot safer. :)
