If it's a one-on-one, is it it still swinging?

Just wondering: If you only want to have an outside sexual relationship with one person, is that still considered swinging?

I am thinking about starting a sexual relationship with a male friend whome I have known for years, but he isn't part of the swingers lifestyle. I'm not comfortable with the whole "being in a room doing it with other people there" thing. I'm much more comfortable with just a one-on-one situation. So far, hubby and I both prefer this method as any encounters thus far have been of this type, with friends.

I would like to meet some new people (to be friends or more with), but I'm too shy to just go to some swingers party and become part of a group that may like to be more "public" with their behavior than I am.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Am I weird or just on the fence? :confused:

Adding another person to have sex with to me is considered swinging. It may not be to others but to me its classified as swinging.

There is nothing wrong with it if you and your guy agree on it. Just talk about everything before and after the deed has been done. This will help you keep your relationship intact. Lingering questions and feelings will make things worse.

I'm not sure if you have done this before, but make sure to set some ground rules. Such as your not allowed to kiss the other person. Couples set this to make sure their relationship is intact afterward. This is because when you have sex with other people its like adding them to your relationship.

If you do not feel comfortable about something, are you sure you are comfortable with the whole thing? Make sure you discuss this with your partner, and also ask yourself what is the impulse behind this choice. Boredom in the relationship? Unhapiness? Talking about it from a to z might help you feel more comfortable, or might make you feel otherwise. But even if it's one-on-one, that's swinging to me.

We have actually tried this on a few past occasions. More involving my husband with our female friends (2). And I tried it once before, but the guy got all nervous, but we're still friends - we even laugh about it sometimes.
