Hi Dan & Jennifer,
I stumbled across your fantastic site through watching one of your vids on YouTube, well done, you are doing a superb job!;)
I am John McAdie, from Edinburgh, Scotland. What I would like to share with you is what happened when my 4 piece band were playing at a gig about 2 weeks or so ago. Firstly though, I want to tell you that I have a slight disability called cerebral palsy which affects my right arm and leg, but, saying that, I am fully mobile and I live independently, so yeah, I do miss female company very much.
Anyway, 2 wks or so, my band were gigging, and the guitarist said he will come to pick me up to drive me to the gig around 10am and, he said, "by the way, I have invited a female musician friend, Suzie to come to hear us, and we're only friends, hope you you mind John?" I said, "that's fine, but can you pick me up first and we'll go and collect Suzie together?" So we went to get her, when we got there, to Suzie's David (the guitarist) asked to use my cell phone to call suzie to tell her we were waiting for her. Anyway, he called her, and I saved her number on the phone. Suzie came out to the car, and honestly, I truly felt that cupid's arrow piercing deeply through my heart!! The attraction was instant! Now, I had totally forgot that I had met Suzie 2 years earlier at a party at David's brothers because it was 3 am and I was tired.
Anyway, in the car, we chatted like old friends, we giggled, joked and shared stories about our childhood and stuff like that. When we were unpacking the gear from the van, at the venue of the gig, that our drummer was driving, I said to Suzie that I have something in my shoe that was causing discomfort, and that I must go back to the van to remove it. Suzie said, Oh I will come with you!! I took off my boot and there was a little wooden religeous ornament which must have fallen into my boot and I never even noticed it. Well, that was it, Suzie and I were in fits of laughter for a good 5 minutes at least after that!! I had fallen in love for sure, and it was for definite, I think, that she had felt the same, because she was so interested in me before and after our gig, by the way, there were 16 different bands playing at the gig that day and our band was 2nd on the list. Anyway, I felt there was something special about Suzie, but she was David's guest and not mine, but before we parted we held hands so briefly, and the way she sqeezed my hand was so very special, but I had to leave early, because, amongst other things, although things were platonic between her and David, I would have still felt a bit as I was getting in the way, we in the UK call it "playing the gooseberry." But I was, and still am deeply in love with her, so much so that the day after the gig, I composed some music for her, played it to her over the phone, and asked her if I could see her again, she said "Yeah sure, but I am going to visit a friend in London, it will be when I come back!" I said, "ok that would be great"! However, n my delight, I forgot to ask her when she is coming back home, so I texted her cell phone asking her, but no reply :( Given past experience, I definitely do not want to hassle her for a date. fear of rejection I guess, and I have quite a lot of them, I think I will give her a few more days then I will call her again. What would you advise please?
Anyway, I have just begun constructing the band's website. and I have put it online while in construtionit is
Audability.net and we have a couple of videos on you tube, just search "Audability" hope you enjoy, and I look forard to hearing from you soon
Sincerely
John
