I'm wondering what the dos and dont's of dating are. I met a guy who I'm into and he's very obviously into me -I think. We flirt constantly, especially with the whole looking each other in the eye thing. It's so fun! I've never really dated before. I went out with a creepy guy for a month, which I don't even count and I went out with my best friend. But I just met this guy three weeks ago. He's had a lot more girlfriends, so he probably knows what he's doing. I don't. Fortunately, we're both a little socially awkward, so I don't think he'd really judge me, but still. So yeah, I want to know things like what to talk about, when to kiss, how to know when he's sending signals, like when he wants to kiss me or when he wants to hold hands and such and when we're officially going out and when we'd be considered an item.
And what if I just think he likes me. How do I know if he just wants to be friends. So far he does the whole eye contact thing. And we hung out one night after my night class one time until the cleaning people kicked us out at 2 am and then he walked me back to my res hall because he wanted me to get there safe. Then on Thursday, he came up to the table I was sitting at in where we talk briefly between classes and sort of came up behind me while I was pretending to be reading (when I was actually thinking about him) and tapped me on the shoulder before he said hello. Then instead of sitting across the table from me, he scooted a chair up closer to me. I definitely played up the flirting that day, naturally of course. I'm going to ask if he wants to hang out on Wednesday after my night class again. That's another thing. He's willing to sit and read for awhile until my night class is over. I'm really really hoping to get asked out or something that night. I wonder if he's as head over heels as I am.
It's kind of funny how my walls crumbled and I let a guy in. I went from "I don't want to date. I don't want to get hurt" to *giggle and blush* "But I like him" in a very short time. There was a lot of thinking about my last relationship that I was putting off, and I actually stayed up whole nights just thinking about it and getting advice. I am still very nervous about dating and getting my heart broken. My mom said the word "love life" earlier today and I almost screamed at her and told her not to call it that. Love is scary. I'm not there yet and it would take a lot of time to get there.
Anyway, any dating advice is good.
