Sperm is too tiny to see, what you are seeing is semen that contains sperm but also other nutrients released from the body.

The clear fluid you're talking about is called 'precum', while the white thick fluid later on is semen.

Although semen is the main carrier of sperm, note that even precum CAN contain sperm - which is what will get a girl pregnant.

Whatever you do, please DO NOT try to "pull out just in time" to not her pregnant, that's a sex myth, it doesn't work like that. You can still have active sperm "in the pipe" from days before when you had a release. Seriously, it's amazing what a common misconception that is.

And on a quick related note, there's another common myth especially with teenagers that sex with a condom is somehow "bad". While you may eventually determine which you prefer (with or without), sex without a condom is very dangerous and really, really not worth the risk - think STDs and babies!
