That's a tough one. It's hard enough tackling this type of thing with someone very close to you, i.e. your wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend.

I'm not sure there's a winning way out of this one. It certainly would be nice if we could all be mature and enlightened enough where we could bring up stuff like this - in a sensitive way btw - and the other party would take it in stride (accepting that this is how you perceive it). But most people will take offense and the mere mention of "strange odors - who me?" and will probably back away from being with you. It'll more than likely hurt someone's feelings. After all, they probably feel sexy and desired, and the last thing they want to hear from you is that they "smell funny".

That having been said, it could be (but probably isn't) a medical issue causing the odor (as in this question - and video - from a guy about his girlfriend's strange vaginal odor).


Since you both discovered unpleasant odors - and on multiple occasions, it's probably safe to say the new couple's hygiene habits are not compatible with your own. Personal hygiene is a very individual choice, and people usually stay as clean as they personally deem necessary.

Sure you could ensure they get a subtle hint, drop an anonymous letter, or something like that. But that could end up even more weird. Not sure there's an elegant way to do this without anyone getting their feelings hurt.

Thank you for the video, I hadn't seen that one yet. Very tastefully done might I say. I was just chatting with a buddy from across the country lastnight, who is in the lifestyle, and brought it up to him. He said they had a very similar experience before and had a good way of helping. He told the other couple that he and his wife both found a shower to be very hot foreplay and made them very excited. So they got in the shower two by two and.. well, I'm not writing a novel here, you know what people do in a shower before intercourse. And that not only helped the odor, but it really did get everyone excited.
So, I guess I can suggest that we have a bit of a shower fetish, which probably is valid, as the lather and intimate contact of bathing with someone can be very sensual.
Now, unless I get any other suggestions, I'll just hope that we can pull it off without them perceiving it as, "You stink, let's wash you off before I touch you," or something to that effect.
