No. Anxiety is a perfectly natural and healthy response to meeting someone. The key is to not let the anxiety stop you. Just proceed as if you weren't anxious, and know that when you act in spite of anxiety it goes away. The only way to overcome anxiety is to do what makes you anxious. Then, what you're afraid of becomes familiar and is no longer frightening.

You're doing fine. Just act "as if" you weren't nervous.

The good thing about talking to someone online (or at least in your case it would be considered a good thing) is the fact that the other person can't see how you look what you're doing. I would suggest continuing to talk to this girl if you really are interested in her. Keep doing so and your feeling of anxiety should go away with time.
