I don't know much about your situation, but here are the "usual suspects," tell me if any sound familiar.

1) THings moved too quickly. The relationship started and everything was great, but maybe you got a little excited and got too far ahead of yourself, and he got spooked.

2) You spent a little too much time together. When you get a "high momentum," going, the "slow downs," seem much more devestiating.

3) He wasn't the most faithful person to begin with. But I won't point fingers at a person I won't know. ;)

4) You were great, but he found someone that was just so great he couldn't resist.

The reason he probably doesn't tell you the exact reason may because he himself isn't certain, or because he's just trying to avoid awkward situations.

Ok, I can tell you're young. It hurts like hell being dumped. If you date, it will happen. You'll never know why he dumped you; he may not even know himself.

There's nothing I can say to make you feel better. It's going to hurt, and there's no way around it.

1. Don't assume you did anything wrong. Attraction is very complex, and he may have just wanted someone else. Maybe just someone new. There's no way to stop someone when he's made his mind up to leave or cheat.

2. Count your blessings that this happened now, instead of five years from now when you're alone trying to raise three kids with them crying for their daddy and wondering when the house will get repossessed.

I know you're hurting. There's no pain like your first love. Just know, we've all been there. It does get better.
