What should i do? it's VERY complicated

i know this is probably a "young kid" question, but i think it's time i seek advice.
this is very long an i'm sorry.

Me and this girl have had troubles together, but had always gotten over them. We dated, then she left me for her ex, then we dated again. NOW is the confusing part. (She has recently left me saying she wants to see if i am truely "the one") She says she loves me, but i just can't see why she would leave me for someone else, and truely just be trying to see if I am the one.. Her parents hate me for some reason, and i don't know how to fix that either. So clearly we have our share of problems; and this is just skimming the top. I am most definately in love with her, but it hurts me everyday knowing she is out with another guy, possibly getting over me. What advice can you give me?

If her parents hate you, as you think, it is either because of how you have interacted with them or due to things she has told them. You would know better which. You've either said or done things that are offensive or she has told them negative things about you.

It seems that she isn't as in love with you as you are in love with her. And she is trying to let you down easy. Doing it this way allows her to leave open the possibility that you might end up back together. It isn't as sharp a break as ending it completely. She's trying to be nice to you.

In the end, though, you need to move on. She doesn't want to be with you. You are stuck on her. This is painful. But there aren't many ways to interpret the situation you describe and this is the most likely.

I think Scarbowl is, as usual, right on target. She wants to move on. Captain Kirk once said to a love-sick young man "There's a million things in this universe you can have. There's a million more you can't. It's no fun, but it's the way it is." You have no choice but to move on. Once she gets seeing other people out of her system, there's always hope for the future. But, if you just sit around moping for her, she won't respect you. You've got to man up and let her see you're moving on. Always be friendly and polite to her when you happen to meet. But be sure to begin dating other people as soon as you're ready.
